Musk Announces Twitter’s Latest Reform Netizens: “Twitter is Dead”

On July 3, it was comprehensively reported that “Twitter crashed!” A few days ago, thousands of users reported that there was a problem in the process of using social media Twitter: they received an error message reminding them that they had exceeded the “Rate limiting”, violated the rules of Twitter, downloaded and viewed too many tweets – which originated from the latest reform of social media by Musk.

Nearly a year after the acquisition, Musk’s reform of Twitter is still ongoing. He recently announced that he will limit users’ daily tweet views to avoid companies using artificial intelligence models from “data crawling and system manipulation” of Twitter.

Musk wrote, “In order to address extreme levels of data crawling and system manipulation issues, we have implemented the following temporary restrictions: authenticated accounts can only read 6000 posts per day, unauthenticated accounts can read 600 posts per day, and new unauthenticated accounts can read 300 posts per day

Previously, Musk had expressed dissatisfaction with AI companies capturing Twitter data and using tweets for research or training AI programs.

He also tweeted that hundreds or even more organizations are “extremely active” in crawling Twitter data, “which affects the real user experience,” but Musk has not yet stated how long the restrictions will last or under what conditions they will be lifted.

After the decision to limit daily views was announced, popular tags such as “# Goodbye Twitter” and “# Rip Twitter” appeared on Twitter.

Some users have stated that if the restrictions continue, they will give up using Twitter and instead use other social media.

Musk quickly responded to this. Just a few hours after announcing the initial limit, he also posted an article stating that the limit had been increased to 8000 verified accounts, 800 unverified accounts, and 400 new unverified accounts. On the same day, the limit was again increased to 10000 views, 1000 views, and 500 views, respectively.

Since Musk took over Twitter and made significant layoffs, Twitter’s drastic changes have led some users to try other similar social media websites.

The “traffic restriction” operation on Twitter has once again caused some users’ dissatisfaction with the platform, questioning why their online activities have been significantly reduced.

Some netizens even erected a “tombstone” for Twitter in the comment section of Musk’s tweet, saying “Twitter is dead”.

A netizen called for, “Please correct this mistake. You didn’t make any decisions when voting before, why are you making such a big decision alone now? Why don’t you organize a survey

But some netizens also welcomed this and said, “On behalf of all Twitter users, I declare that this is a good idea! These measures can ensure data protection while promoting a fair online environment. Thank you for the team’s proactive measures

Twitter co founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey subsequently expressed his views on the matter, stating that, Running Twitter is very difficult. I don’t want anyone to be under this pressure. I believe this team is doing their best under huge constraints. It’s easy to criticize these decisions from afar… I also feel guilty about it… but I know their goal is to see Twitter thrive. It will
